The feast of Jazz & World Music is back for 6th consecutive year!
At Rialto Theatre on 29th and 30th November

 

Acknowledging the presence and influence of Jazz and World Music genres on the Cypriot contemporary music creation, the Cultural Services of the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports and Youth, the Cyprus Music Information Centre and the Rialto Theatre organized in 2014 the 1st Jazz and World Music Showcase. Following five successful editions, the 6th Cyprus Jazz & World Music Showcase, presents eight different bands and more than forty artists, showing a global picture of the contemporary Cypriot music creation.
 
Friends of jazz and world music will have this year, the opportunity to listen to the original music of Cypriot artists, which is influenced by jazz and world music from various countries and regions such as Cyprus, Greece, the Balkans, the Middle East and more.
 
Alongside to the festival's main program a series of side events are organized, such as workshops and discussions with foreign guests, emphasis is given by the organisation on informing and educating the artists. An innovation to this year's event is the organisation of three Jam Sessions at Art Studio 55. The 1st Jam session will be held on November 28th with Ermis & Lee, and two more will be held immediately after the main events, on November 29th and 30th.

WORKSHOP @ 18:30 - Self-management and internationalization of music projects
A complete overview of the dynamics in the international music market and what the artist needs to address and develop a career as a professional. The workshop will introduce the artist to a better knowledge of what is self-management and what self-representation requires; how to access the international scene and how to approach specific markets.
