MorFarm Big Band Co.

MORFARM - George Morfitis.jpg

The MorFarm Big Band Co. is a dynamic ensemble formed by Giorgos Morfitis in June 2024. This 12-member band comprises ten skilled instrumentalists and two lead singers, all of whom are esteemed professionals actively contributing to the jazz and world music scene in Cyprus.

The audience will dive into the past with The Latin Side of Jazz Standards project, where the band will breathe new life into timeless jazz standards from the 30s and 40s Big Band era. Its unique arrangements infuse these classic songs with the Cuban musical styles of Latin Jazz and Timba, offering a fresh, uplifting sound that connects a century of music.

Giorgos Morfitis, the band’s arranger, aims to merge historic Jazz with today’s vibrant Latin influences. This innovative approach not only honours the original pieces, but also revitalises them, making them relevant for modern audiences.
