Open Call

The Department of Contemporary Culture of the Deputy Ministry of Culture, in collaboration with Rialto Theatre, is organizing the 13th Cyprus Jazz & World Music Showcase 2026, which will take place from 4–6 December 2026 at Rialto Theatre in Limassol.

The main mission of the event is to provide a platform for artistic expression to musicians and groups active in the field of contemporary improvisational music, presenting a comprehensive and dynamic overview of contemporary Cypriot music creation, both to audiences in Cyprus and to international music professionals. At the same time, emphasis will be placed on the development of professional networks and educational activities.

This year, the Festival will once again feature a series of discussions with invited guests from the international music industry. These discussions will focus on enhancing Cypriot musicians’ understanding of the structures and mechanisms through which the international music industry operates.

International festival organisers and professionals from the global music industry will also be invited to attend the event, with the aim of becoming acquainted with and establishing contact with Cyprus’s music scene. A primary objective is to subsequently invite Cypriot artists to participate in international festivals and organisations abroad, thereby creating a platform for the exchange of artists’ experiences and practices at an international level.

For this purpose, interested music groups are invited to familiarise themselves with the terms and conditions of participation in the Showcase, which are available to download below, and on the website of the Department of Modern Culture of the Deputy Ministry of Culture (https://www.gov.cy/culture-dcc/documents/cyprus-jazz-and-world-music-showcase/).

Applications will be evaluated by a committee established by the organisers, and the music groups selected will be invited to a meeting to determine the next stages of the process.

All applications must be submitted exclusively online through the official Showcase website, no later than Friday, 6 November 2026.
